Outdoor Noise Directive 2000/14/EC
The Outdoor Noise Directive of 8 May 2000 was adopted and implemented for Italy by Legislative Decree no. 262 of 4 September 2002.
It has as its key objective the reduction of noise emitted by equipment used outdoors and applies to different types of machinery and equipment defined in Annex I and divided as follows:
- Machinery for which a limit value of the emitted sound power level is established (art. 12): the Manufacturer must apply to a Notified Body requesting the CE Certification of the machinery.
In this case, Vericert, as a Notified Body, will issue one of the following certifications: -
- CE certified according to Annex VI – Internal production control with evaluation of technical documentation and periodic checks
- CE Certificate according to Annex VII – Unique Specimen Verification
- CE certified according to Annex VIII – Total Quality Assurance
- Machinery and equipment for which the Directive does not set a limit value for the sound power emitted (art.13). In this case, it is the Manufacturer himself who ensures compliance by means of an internal production control procedure, but can voluntarily contact a Notified Body requesting a voluntary verification of the conformity of his product with the legislation in force.
