Lift Checks DPR 162/99 and S.M.I.
Vericert is an accredited and notified body for the execution of periodic and extraordinary inspections of lifts pursuant to Presidential Decree 162 of 30 April 1999 and subsequent amendments.
Presidential Decree 162 of 30 April 1999 is the decree that deals with all aspects related to the safety of the lift, i.e. the essential safety requirements, the methods for assessing the conformity of the product before it can be marketed and the maintenance and periodic activities checks that ensure the correct preservation of the functionality of the system itself.
The owner of the lift or his legal representative (e.g. the Building Manager) are required to carry out regular periodic checks.
Periodic check
Performed every 2 years
Extraordinary check
Carried out at the request of the owner or the Legal Representative in the case of:

- substantial changes or transformations of the system
- any negative outcome of the biennial periodic verification
- accident even without personal injury
- in the event of a negative outcome of a previous periodic check
- communication of the commissioning of the lifts to the municipality made after sixty days from the date of the declaration of conformity of the system.
