PED Directive 2014/68
The PED Directive 2014/68/EU regulates the placing on the market of pressure equipment (vessels, pipes, steam generators, safety devices…) and the methods of certification and CE marking.
Depending on the degree of hazard and the type of equipment production, the Directive identifies the procedure(s) to achieve the marking of the product.
This path is divided into different certification MODULES with which single or serial productions can be certified; produced with a production and/or design or not.
VERICERT is an accredited Notified Body for all Modules of the PED Directive
Modules
- MODULE A2 – Internal production control combined with official controls of pressure equipment carried out at random intervals
- MODULE B – EU-type examination – Type of production
- MODULE B – EU Type Examination – Type of Project
- MODULE C2 – Conformity to type based on internal production control combined with officially controlled pressure equipment testing at random intervals
- MODULE D – Type Conformity Based on Quality Assurance of the Manufacturing Process
- MODULE D1 – Quality assurance of the production process
- MODULE E – Conformity to type based on quality assurance of pressure equipment
- MODULE E1 – Quality Assurance of Finished Pressure Equipment Inspection and Testing
- MODULE F – Conformity to type based on the verification of pressure equipment
- MODULE G – Compliance based on unit verification
- MODULE H – Compliance based on total quality assurance
- MODULE H1 – Compliance based on full quality assurance with design control
VERICERT is also an examination centre for the qualification of welding procedures and personnel according to point 3.1.2 of Annex I of the Directive; it can therefore approve and qualify the operating methods and personnel used for the manufacture pressure equipment of II, III, and IV category.
